Join us for the HNC Art & Illustration End of Year Exhibition 2026, a free public showcase celebrating the creativity, experimentation, and development of emerging artists. Running from 28th May to 1st June, the exhibition brings together a wide range of work created throughout the academic year, including final pieces from the students’ graded units.
This exhibition is an opportunity to experience the work of upcoming artists working across different mediums, styles, and creative approaches. From illustration, painting, photography, and printmaking to collage, mixed media, sculpture, digital design, and installation work, the exhibition transforms the space into a fully immersive creative experience. Every artist brings their own influences, perspectives, and identity into the work, resulting in a diverse showcase filled with originality and experimentation.
The exhibition reflects not only the final outcomes, but also the creative journeys behind them. Throughout the year, students have explored themes inspired by music, personal experiences, culture, identity, storytelling, and contemporary art and design. Visitors will be able to see how ideas have developed through research, experimentation, and hands-on making, giving insight into the process behind each final piece.
Alongside the graded unit projects, the exhibition will also feature selected community work developed through workshops and collaborative projects completed throughout the year. These projects highlight the importance of creativity within the wider community and show how art can connect people, encourage participation, and create shared experiences outside of the classroom.
The HNC Art & Illustration End of Year Exhibition is open to everyone, whether you are an artist, student, creative professional, or someone simply interested in discovering new talent and supporting local creatives. The range of styles and mediums on display means there will be something for everyone to connect with, from bold visual work and experimental design to detailed handmade pieces and immersive installations.
More than just a showcase, this exhibition celebrates the next generation of artists finding their voice and pushing their creative practice forward. It captures a year of hard work, risk-taking, collaboration, and personal growth, offering visitors the chance to experience fresh ideas and original perspectives from emerging creatives.
