Glasgow’s workplace culture is about to get a lot more active. On Saturday 5th September 2026, the Glasgow Industry Cup® brings together employees and local businesses from across the city for a first-of-its-kind inter-industry padel competition.

Held at Racket Barn in Govan, the Glasgow Industry Cup® sees teams representing their industry go head-to-head across a World Cup-style format — group stages followed by a knockout bracket, played across three courts throughout the day. So far, five industries have confirmed their place in the competition: Law, Finance, Emergency Services, Professional Learning & Development, and Marketing & Sales, with individuals and pairs from different companies signing up to represent their sector.

The idea behind the event is simple but powerful: work culture needs more genuine connection, and play is one of the fastest ways to build it. Rather than networking over another coffee meeting or conference panel, participants meet on the padel court — competing, laughing, and connecting with people from completely different industries and companies across Glasgow.

Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the UK, known for being easy to pick up regardless of experience level, sociable by nature (played in pairs), and genuinely fun for complete beginners and seasoned players alike. No prior experience is needed to take part — rackets and balls are included as part of your ticket.
