Who Turned the Light On? Book Launch with Billy McKay in Glasgow

24 July @ 5:30 am - 6:30 am
Free

Join us for an inspiring evening of hope, community and celebration as we mark the launch of Who Turned the Light On?, the powerful new book by Glasgow author Billy McKay.

Taking place on Friday 24 July at Set Free Café – Hope Hub, this free community event welcomes everyone, whether you’re interested in Billy’s remarkable story, looking for encouragement, or simply wanting to spend an evening with friendly people over great food and conversation.

Billy McKay’s newly released book shares his extraordinary journey from a childhood shaped by addiction and gang culture to finding hope, purpose and transformation. Honest, moving and deeply personal, Who Turned the Light On? explores how even life’s darkest moments can lead to a new beginning, offering inspiration to anyone who has faced hardship, struggled with addiction, or is searching for hope.

The evening begins with arrival from 5:00pm, when guests can enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and refreshments before the official book launch at 5:30pm. Billy will share the story behind the book, speak about the experiences that inspired him to write it, and give an uplifting testimony about the journey that changed his life.

Following the launch, everyone is invited to stay for a free meal, worship and fellowship in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you come with family, friends or on your own, you’ll find a relaxed environment where everyone is welcome.

This is more than a book launch – it’s an opportunity to hear an authentic story of resilience, redemption and hope while connecting with others in the local community.
