Young Buskers to ‘Roar’ at Buchanan Galleries Ahead of Katy Perry’s Glasgow Show

4 October @ 9:00 am - 7 October @ 6:00 pm
Free
Aspiring young musicians are being given the opportunity to let their talent ‘Roar’ as Buchanan Galleries calls on buskers to perform Katy Perry hits live in the mall in the run-up to the pop icon’s The Lifetimes Tour arriving in Glasgow this October.
Ahead of Katy Perry’s much-anticipated concert at the OVO Hydro on Tuesday 7th October, Buchanan Galleries is inviting local young artists to take centre stage at its ‘Busk Stop’ – a safe and dedicated busking area in the centre to showcase emerging talent.
From Saturday 4th October to Tuesday 7th October, buskers will have the opportunity to captivate shoppers with their own renditions of Katy Perry’s chart-topping tracks, including global favourites like Firework, Dark Horse and Teenage Dream.
Performances will take place at the Busk Stop, located in front of the centre’s popular flower wall, which has become a focal point for entertainment at Buchanan Galleries. The initiative not only provides a platform for young musicians to share their passion but also creates a lively and uplifting atmosphere for visitors.
Kathy Murdoch, Centre Director at Buchanan Galleries, said: “Since launching the ‘Busk Stop’ this summer, we’ve been overwhelmed by the level of interest from talented young performers across the region. There’s a real appetite to celebrate local creativity and with Katy Perry’s arrival in Glasgow this October, it’s the perfect way to get into the spirit of her tour. We can’t wait to see local performers light up the centre and share their own spin on these iconic songs.”
The call-out is open to young artists across the region to register to perform at its ‘Busk Stop’ free of charge. Performers will be able to reserve hour slots from Saturday 4th October to Tuesday 7th October, in the lead up to Katy Perry’s highly anticipated Glasgow concert. Musicians interested in performing at the ‘Busk Stop’ at Buchanan Galleries can register their interest via Buchanan Galleries’ website: https://www.buchanangalleries.co.uk/en/articles-listing-page/busk-stop
