SUMMARY:Monday Night Film Club: Obsession (2025)
DESCRIPTION:As the nights draw in\, our Monday Night Film Club embraces the spirit of the season with an October programme packed with cult favourites\, camp classics\, and a few genuinely spine-tingling frights. Join us each week for unforgettable films\, big laughs\, and Halloween atmosphere aplenty. \nWe conclude our October programme with Curry Barker’s Obsession (2025)\, a fresh indie horror that blends dark humour\, mounting dread\, and unexpected twists. Clever\, unsettling\, and packed with Halloween-season energy. A modern cult favourite in the making\, it’s a fittingly eerie finale to a month of big frights and camp classics.

SUMMARY:Pillow Talks: Sextortion\, disability and navigating online relationships
DESCRIPTION:When online interactions are often used to threaten or exploit someone\, are disabled people being included in online safety conversations? \n\n\n\nFor this edition of Pillow Talks\, we’re bringing together perspectives (both in person and online) from disability\, cyber safety\, sex and relationships education and gender-based violence to explore sextortion\, online relationships and the support available when things go wrong. \nSextortion is a form of blackmail or coercion involving sexual or intimate material. Someone may threaten to share images\, videos or information unless the person gives them money\, sends more images\, agrees to sexual activity or meets another demand. \nIt can happen in lots of different ways. Sometimes it begins through dating apps\, social media\, messaging or online relationships. In other cases\, intimate material may be stolen\, obtained through deception or coercion\, recorded without consent\, or even fabricated. \nAs more of our relationships and social lives take place online\, understanding these risks matters. But conversations about online safety can also leave disabled people out\, focus too heavily on vulnerability\, or treat avoiding sex and relationships as the solution. \nThis discussion will look at sextortion through a wider lens: how disabled people navigate relationships online\, what accessible sex and relationships education can do to support people\, why recognising coercion is not always straightforward\, and what happens when someone tries to ask for help. \nThe conversation will also explore consent in online spaces: what consent means when sharing intimate images or information\, how coercion can undermine it\, and why accessible education about digital boundaries and sexual autonomy matters. \nWho is this event for?\nThis event is open to adults aged 18+. Disabled and neurodivergent people are particularly welcome as well as their carers and loved ones. \nPlease be aware that the discussion will include references to sexual coercion\, intimate-image abuse\, blackmail\, exploitation and online abuse. You are welcome to step out at any point if you need to. \nAccessibility\nProject Ability is an accessible venue\, and we want the event to be as welcoming and accessible as possible. \nIf there is anything we can do to support you to attend or take part\, please let us know when booking. If you need a BSL interpreter for this session\, please do send us an email to contact@pillowtalk.scot. \nThe event will also be livestreamed on YouTube. The link to access the event will be emailed on the day.

SUMMARY:Samhain Masquerade Ball
DESCRIPTION:Féilire and Wyrd Collective are delighted to collaborate for a special Samhain celebration on the 30th of October at Sharkeys Bar.                             \nJoin us at Sharkeys Bar for Samhain traditions\, games\, art installations\, spoken word\, live music and DJ’s.        \nSamhain traditionally marks the Celtic New Year and the end of the harvest. One of the year’s most liminal times\, when the veil between the worlds is at its thinnest. A time to reflect on the last year\, set intentions\, and reflect on the light we will carry into the darkest half of the year. \nWe are throwing a Masquerade Ball to bring people together and also mark a year of collaborations between Féilire and Wyrd Collective. We have celebrated a full Celtic calendar\, starting with our Samhain event in Adrian’s last year\, Imbolc 31st of January at the Flying Duck\, Bealtaine in collaboration with Agnew Lane\, and an art installation and story walk for Lughnasagh. \nOn the night\, we are excited to be joined by three incredible live acts: Cashlin Mackenzie\, Medb\, and Culchie Goth which will make a very special night. \nWyrd Collective will be opening the evening with story telling. There will be art installations\, traditional Samhain games\, and a Féilire x Wyrd Dj set to close out the evening. \nFéilire is a collaboration between Lou Rowland and Zoe Sheehy\, and was born from overlaps in their practices and a desire to celebrate the four Celtic festivals. Féilire\, meaning calendar in Gaeilge (Irish)\, brings people together to mark Samhain\, Imbolc\, Bealtaine\, and Lughnasagh through  gatherings with storytelling\, music\, art installations\, and rituals. Féilire explores how these  practices can grow and evolve\, creating accessible and welcoming spaces for people to come  together and share collective experiences and community.   \nWyrd Collective is a collaborative storytelling collective based in Glasgow. Founded in early 2025  by multidisciplinary artist and facilitator\, Iona Taylor\, the group has grown through communal  practice to gather\, write and share tales. Their debut at Mesh\, and our collaborations have used storytelling to build community\, collectively reflect on the passing of time and mark the rhythms of the calendar.   \n  \nEvent details:   \nSharkeys Bar\, 51 Old Rutherglen Rd\,   \n30th October –  7pm – Midnight \nTickets – £10 – No one turned away for lack of funds.

SUMMARY:Vivaldi Four Seasons Glasgow by Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague
DESCRIPTION:The Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague brings Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons to Glasgow on Sunday 8 November 2026 at 7.30pm\, with young Czech violinist Matteo Hager as soloist. The concert takes place at Destiny Church in Shawlands\, on Pollokshaws Road in Glasgow’s Southside and is part of the orchestra’s UK tour of autumn 2026\, which visits Reading\, London\, Brighton & Hove\, Eastbourne\, Newcastle upon Tyne\, Edinburgh\, Inverness and Glasgow. \nVivaldi’s The Four Seasons is one of the best-loved works in all of classical music: four violin concertos that paint spring birdsong\, a summer storm\, an autumn harvest and the icy winds of winter in sound. Performed live by a professional orchestra with a solo violinist\, it is a vivid and direct experience for long-standing classical music lovers and newcomers alike. \nThe programme combines much-loved Baroque and Classical works: \n\nJohann Pachelbel – Canon in D major\nWolfgang Amadeus Mozart – Eine kleine Nachtmusik (selection)\nJohann Sebastian Bach – Air on the G String\nGeorge Frideric Handel – Water Music (selection)\nAntonio Vivaldi – The Four Seasons\n\nMatteo Hager is a young Czech violinist studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Supported in his development by renowned Czech violinist Václav Hudeček\, he is the soloist throughout the orchestra’s UK tour. \nBohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague – founded in Prague and led by director and chief conductor Martin Šanda\, the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague (BSOP) is an ensemble of around 70 musicians whose repertoire spans classical music\, film music and crossover projects. For this tour\, the orchestra performs in chamber formation. \nPractical information\nThe concert lasts approximately 75 minutes without an interval. Doors open 30 minutes before the start and all seats are numbered\, so you can choose your seat when booking. \nTickets from £24: https://bmaproduction.enigoo.com/app/tickets/events/5\nMore information: https://www.bsop.eu/events/a-vivaldi-the-four-seasons-glasgow/

SUMMARY:November 13th Circle Coven Gathering
DESCRIPTION:What if your strength wasn’t something to apologize for? What if your fierceness was sacred? \n  \nJoin us for the November 13th Circle Coven Gathering on Friday\, November 13th\, a day sacred to witches and deeply connected to feminine power. This time\, we’re going beyond softness. We’re diving into the warrior goddesses. \nWhile the divine feminine is often portrayed as gentle\, nurturing\, and receptive\, it’s also fierce\, protective\, and uncompromising. Athena’s strategic brilliance. Freyja’s fearless warrior spirit. The power that refuses to shrink\, the boundaries that protect\, the strength that stands firm. This is the divine feminine energy that patriarchal systems have worked hardest to suppress. \nAnd under a growing crescent moon\, the energy is ripe for building and strengthening that power within you. \nIn this gathering\, we’ll explore the warrior goddesses\, reclaim the fierce power that lives within us all regardless of gender\, and connect with the part of ourselves that fights for what matters\, protects what’s sacred\, and refuses to be diminished. You’ll learn to honor both the soft and the strong\, the receptive and the fierce\, the warrior and the wise. \nYou’ll leave with a deeper connection to your own warrior goddess energy and a reminder that your strength is sacred. \nYou’ll also have a chance to connect with fellow witches and spiritual women as we enjoy tea\, coffee\, and homemade treats made by an experienced kitchen witch. SUMMARY:Santa's Woodland Experience
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the place where Santa and his elves have come for the run up to Christmas for the past 13 years\, making it Scotland’s number 1 outdoor Woodland venue at Christmas. Nestled in the foothills of the Campsies\, our aim is to capture the natural beauty of our woodland and bring Santa to life in a fun\, interactive\, and memorable way. We are only 40 minutes away from Glasgow and 30 minutes from Stirling. Join us for a tractor trailer ride into our woods to find Santa in his cabin. Inside you’ll meet the man himself\, tell him what you’d like for Christmas and get a wrapped gift and a choice of toy from Santa’s toy chest. There may be time for a sing song and some Santa magic and always time for you to take some photos before boarding the trailer once again. Back at our shed you can browse our shop\, toast marshmallows\, have a bounce on our bouncy tractor or get some food from BASE pizza or Streat Scullery. Woodland Experiences is a small family-run and owned business that has been in the Christmas spirit for over 30 years\, moving from Christmas tree farming to becoming Santa’s home away from home. \nTickets are on sale now!

SUMMARY:Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi\, The Four Seasons
DESCRIPTION:A unique concert will take place at the cosy Saint Luke’s\, Glasgow\, on 29th of November. \nJoin us for an evening featuring the famous Antonio Vivaldi cycle «The Four Seasons» in the unique interpretation of contemporary composer Max Richter\, performed by the extraordinary Mystery Ensemble. \nMax Richter is the composer of music for dozens of feature films and documentaries. The European Film Academy voted him the best film composer in 2008. He reinterpreted Antonio Vivaldi’s music in the spirit of minimalism and postmodernism. Recomposed by Max Richter: Vivaldi\, The Four Seasons is one of Richter’s most famous works. After its release in 2012\, the recording topped the iTunes Classical Music charts in over 20 countries. \nMax Richter has recorded 12 solo albums and performed at the London Barbican\, the Paris Philharmonic\, the Sydney Opera and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw\, and among his projects are the Sum Opera and the Infra ballet (choreographed by Wayne MacGregor) at Covent Garden. Richter’s music is heard in many performances around the world\, as well as in the films «Shutter Island» by Martin Scorsese\, «Last Love on Earth» by David Mackenzie\, and «Waltz with Bashir»\, for the soundtrack to which he received the award «Best Composer» from the European Film Academy. \nThe Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi is one of the most famous and frequently performed works of classical music. The Italian master wittily and gracefully captured in music the way his contemporaries saw the world and nature. The Vivaldi cycle is both a philosophical reflection on a magnificent illustrated «calendar» and a «sightseeing tour» of Italy.
