FAMILIES INVITED TO GET CREATIVE AT FRASERS PLUS BRAEHEAD’S SCOTTIE CRAFT WEEKEND

Looking for a way to keep the kids entertained this summer holidays? As part of the Scottie in the City campaign, Frasers Plus Braehead is inviting families to get crafty, unleash their creativity and support a fantastic cause with a special Scottie-themed arts and crafts weekend in aid of Maggie’s.
Taking place on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 August, from 10am – 6pm on the lower level near M&S, the free event forms part of Frasers Plus Braehead’s involvement in Scottie in the City – Greater Glasgow’s colourful public art trail, celebrating the iconic Scottie dog while raising vital funds for Maggie’s.
Whether little ones are looking to get creative or families are searching for an activity to enjoy together, the event is the perfect addition to a summer shopping trip.
Visitors can enjoy a range of free Scottie-inspired arts and crafts activities throughout the weekend, including the opportunity to design their own Scottie tote bag for a £3 donation to Maggie’s, alongside a selection of free creative activities for children of all ages.
Every £3 donation from the Scottie tote bag activity will go directly to Maggie’s, helping the charity continue providing free practical, emotional and psychological support to people living with cancer and those closest to them.
On Sunday 9 August from 11am – 12pm, visitors will also have the opportunity to meet artist Jenni Sheward, creator of Frasers Plus Braehead’s ‘Flowers O’Scotland’ Scottie sculpture, who will host a special creative session and share the inspiration behind her design.
Ashley Bisland, Centre Director at Frasers Plus Braehead, said: “Supporting our local community is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re proud to be playing our part in Scottie in the City while raising vital funds for Maggie’s. This event is a fantastic opportunity to bring families together during the summer holidays, encouraging creativity while supporting an incredible cause.
“Maggie’s provides invaluable support to people and families affected by cancer, and we’re delighted to help raise awareness and funds through a fun, community-focused event. We look forward to welcoming visitors across the weekend and hope they’ll enjoy getting involved while making a meaningful difference.”
With free family-friendly activities, the chance to meet the artist behind Braehead’s Scottie sculpture and opportunities to support Maggie’s, Frasers Plus Braehead is the perfect destination for a creative summer day out.
