This past 14th November 2024 Joyworks won the inaugural Small Business Resilience Hero Award from Collabor8te—a Glasgow based collaborative coworking and meetings space in the heart of Glasgow.

This award nomination was in celebration of small businesses that have bounced back from major setbacks, survived the COVID storm, and come back even stronger.

Sharon Miller, Joyworks’ founder regained her health after nearly losing her life to covid and during a protracted recovery of four years of long Covid.

Teresa Jackson, founder of Collabor8te said it was a tight race but Joyworks won because of her story , support of others and the votes from Joyworks community,

Sharon got her business out of debt and Joyworks not only survived but thrived and continues to partner with epic changemakers, heart-centred organisations and companies that truly care about their people.

She is also truly honoured to have been named one of the Top 100 Business Women Scotland Female Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2024.

“It’s a testament to the joy and impact we’ve created together in Scotland since Joyworks spearheaded the Laughter therapy movement in Scotland in 2008- empowering women, supporting holistic and corporate wellness, and bringing transformation through life-changing training, events and online programmes.” explained Ms. Miller. “These awards are a great reminder to us all that resilience pays off, change is possible, and business can be about love!”
