Scottish calligrapher and watercolour artist Suz Miller, the face behind Magenta Ink Calligraphy, has given the humble traffic cone a festive makeover with her new Christmas card design.
Inspired by Scotland’s much-loved traffic cones, Suz has turned them into a Christmas tree, complete with fairy lights. The design started as an idea over the summer before being hand-painted in watercolour and turned into Christmas cards.
“I wanted to create something a bit different for Christmas, with a little Scottish humour. Traffic cones seemed like a fun place to start, and once I’d pictured them as a tree I couldn’t help but get my watercolours to work!”
The cards have had a lovely response since Suzanne first shared the design and are now in production, ready for Christmas.
Printed from her original watercolour painting, they’re available individually or in packs of ten, and are a fun option for anyone who fancies sending something a little less traditional this year.
