Back of the Net! Scottish Women’s Football podcast A Level Playing Field hosts live evening in Glasgow
Leading Scottish women’s football podcast, A Level Playing Field, hosted by football journalists Alison McConnell and Cheryl Smith, is headed to Glasgow for its first live event next week.
Kicking off on Tuesday 11th August, the live event will give the ultimate live preview of the 2026/27 Scottish Women’s Premier League Season, bringing insightful conversation, expert analysis and exclusive insight ahead of the new campaign starting next weekend.
Hosted by Alison McConnell and Cheryl Smith, who combined have more than 25 years’ worth of experience within the women’s game, fans can expect discussion on some of the season’s biggest storylines, along with live conversation on emerging talent, key transfers and chat on the players and teams to keep an eye on.
Other familiar faces on the panel include Grant Scott, manager of Celtic Women’s team, Donald Gillies, Women’s and Girl’s managing director at Rangers and Kaela Mcdonald-Nguah, striker at Montrose F.C Women. A dedicated Q&A will give fans the opportunity to ask the burning questions that have been on their minds, directly to the people helping shape the future of the game.
Alison has covered Scottish football extensively throughout her career, covering both Champions and Premier League games, along with both international and domestic football. Cheryl has written for The Scottish Sun, along with STV and BBC News, covering both men’s and women’s games. Between them, they are two of the best narrators and analysts of the Scottish Women’s game today.
Organised by Think ALT, the event takes place at Exit Glasgow, with the whistle blowing at 6pm. Tickets are free, but fans must sign up to secure a place.

It’s been shaped by the people who care most about the game, and we can’t wait to bring everyone together to celebrate what promises to be another exciting year for women’s football.”
