Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival: Focus on Film at the Social Hub

23 October @ 7:00 pm - 25 October @ 11:00 pm
£4

The Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival (SMHAF) is back, taking place 19th Oct – 8th Nov across Scotland.

This weekend, SMHAF will take over the Social Hub in Glasgow for a weekend of film.

The Focus on Film programme opens with their International Film Awards ceremony on Friday 23 October, celebrating outstanding cinema from Scotland, the UK and around the world. It is free to attend but booking is required.

Other highlights include Amanda, a moving documentary following artist Amanda Cullen as she reclaims her voice and shares her story through art; Trine on Fire, a remarkable portrait of recovery, creativity and forensic mental health; and What Will I Become, an intimate exploration of trans youth, identity and community healing.

The programme also features short film collections including Acts of Survival, exploring resilience amid conflict and displacement, Rewilding the Mind, celebrating the positive impact of nature on mental wellbeing, and Where I’m At, which explores young people’s mental health through stories of connection, creativity and hope.

All screenings include post-screening discussions, offering audiences the chance to engage more deeply with the films and their themes.

Tickets are available for many of the screenings at a sliding scale for you to pay what you can (£4-12)
