Glasgow Therapist wins book award for Mabel Murphy

Former Harley Street Therapist, Mike Delaney has just won an award for fiction from Southern California Book Festival for his first novel, Mabel Murphy,

Mike, who now runs a private practice in Central Glasgow, wrote Mabel Murphy during lockdown as a way of coping with the isolation. It is a heartfelt story based in the old mental hospital system and tells the story of Mabel, who ends up in the system due to a series of unforeseen events. Although fiction, it is based on real characters who Mike looked after when he was an NHS nurse. The book has been well received with many five star reviews on Amazon and Goodreads

Mike says that he is very excited and flattered to even be nominated for his first book and hopes it will lead to further books and hopefully some success.

His autobiography, Behind the Smile has also been nominated for an award for inspirational writing in the Pinnacle Book Awards

Both books are available to buy from Amazon, Waterstones, Barnes and Noble (USA) and all good bookstores
