A captivating new modern magic show brings card trickery, mind-reading and mystery to Glasgow’s Merchant City.

Billed as ‘The Hush Club’ the monthly performance is part of a burgeoning live magic scene in the city.

The man behind the show – Scots professional magician Dave Forrest – has performed all over the world, including appearances in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and four times at the Magic Castle in Hollywood. His most recent Hollywood performance was in February 2024 and now he’s bringing the best of his Magic Castle show to Glasgow.

Dave’s been performing live for 25 years and is renowned for his sleight of hand close-up card magic, humour and modern take on the art form. In addition to performing, Dave is also a creator of magic and has produced a catalogue of bestselling tricks that are performed by magicians the world over.

Dave said: “Glasgow has a huge tradition of magic and the city has given rise to some of the best magicians in the world. You’re always guaranteed a lively audience in Glasgow. It’s a city that appreciates something a bit different so it’s ideal for this type of show. After many years performing outside of Scotland I’m excited to bring a bit of magic to my home city.

“The show features a variety of parlour magic and mind-reading along with a selection of close-up card magic, which is where my magical roots are. There’s even a wee bit of fire and, if it all goes wrong, you might get to see me drink a mouthful of bleach!”

The monthly Hush Club is on at Babbity Bowser, Merchant City on Friday 12th September, Saturday 11th October and Saturday 8th November.
