A popular music event will return to a Glasgow park this year as organisers share their most ‘ambitious line up to date’.
The Melting Pot x Heverlee Spring Bank Holiday Weekender will take place over two days from Saturday, May 6 to Sunday, May 7 at the Queen’s Park Recreation Grounds in the city’s Southside.
Festival goers will once again have the chance to dance the night away under a circus-style big top tent with ice-cold pints of Heverlee and food provided by Glasgow’s The Big Feed.
Mark Mackechnie, festival director, said: “We’re really looking forward to bringing this great event back home to the Southside of Glasgow.
“This is the most ambitious line up we’ve put on to date.
“Add that to our continued partnership with Heverlee and Optimo, food from the Big Feed and the various performers we will have across the site.
“It’s going to be memorable”.
Headlining Saturday’s programme will be Odyssey, best known for disco classics like Going Back to My Roots and Inside Out alongside sets from DJ collective Horse Meat Disco and Manchester favourites Homoelectric.
Sunday will see JD Twitch and JG Wilkes of Optimo (Espacio) leading a line up that includes David Barbarossa and Pleasure Pool.
Keith Mcivor, of Optimo, said: “Last year’s Queen’s Park Recreation Ground event was one of our very favourite gigs of 2022.
“The atmosphere was electric and there is no party like a Glasgow party.
“We are very excited to be back again this year with a hand-picked line up of some of our most loved artists.”
Tickets for this year’s event are on sale now.
