Garden centre chain to launch brand new club with tea, crafts and scones

Dobbies’ Braehead and Milngavie stores are launching a brand new Crafternoon Tea Club on January 24 and 25, promising a relaxing afternoon of crafting and conversation alongside a classic afternoon tea.

The 90-minute workshop invites attendees to try out a punch needle kit using a wildlife-themed design, with all materials provided and no prior experience required.

Guests will also enjoy a full afternoon tea during the session.

The first tier features freshly made finger sandwiches on a mix of white and grain bread, with fillings including soft cheese and cucumber, ham, rocket and red onion chutney, prawn, and egg and watercress.

The second tier features Dobbies’ famous scones, both plain and fruit, served with Cornish clotted cream and a mini pot of jam.

The top tier offers a selection of sweet treats, including a mini Victoria sponge, lemon mousse, meringue kisses and coconut and cherry macaroons.

A full pot of tea or coffee is also included, with unlimited refills.

Guests can upgrade their afternoon tea with a savoury sharing plate for £8.50, featuring chicken terrine on brioche toast, houmous and olives in a filled pastry cup, and smoked salmon and dill on brioche toast.

Hot drinks can be upgraded to a speciality coffee, tea or hot chocolate for an additional 50p, and guests aged 18 and over can enjoy a 200ml bottle of prosecco for £6.50.

Bookings can be made online at www.dobbies.com/events.

“We’ve designed the workshop to be a relaxing, beginner-friendly experience and it’s a great way to spend time with friends and family members.

“Whether you’re looking to treat yourself or gift an experience this Christmas, our Crafternoon Tea Club is the perfect present.”
